With Clark and Lois they go "we need to talk" and sit down and talk. He sees that she's mad about him not keeping a promise and it doesn't matter that he was preventing a nuclear meltdown and the murder of her own father, he insists that she's allowed to be pissed that he didn't keep that promise. He then makes a big effort to make more room to show her that she is very important to him.

With Kyle and Lana, she says "let's talk about logistics" and he refuses, says they'll figure it out as they go. She finds a way to remember what she loves about him and he makes a point to get shitfaced and remind her of all the behaviors that have been killing their marriage. He finally puts some effort into their relationship by taking her out and she's the one organizing child care and then he "jokingly" bitches about how expensive dinner was.

I feel like I'm gnawing on these relationships like a dog with a bone or chugging the experience like it's lemonade on a hot summer day. Just going absolutely nuts over here
